  Pros

  Program is now freeware though not located here on cnet.com. Just Google Warzone 2100. New version dramatically improved. It has a multi-player online mode as well as a decent selection of "Skirmish" maps for single player play/training.

  Cons

  Zoom in and out feature takes a little getting used to. Also, there is no training mode like Starcraft so it pays to spend a little time reading the docs on how things work.

  Summary

  Again, best free strategy game I've found. Better than Command and Conquer. It's free so there's nothing to lose in trying it. Definitely fun. Hours go by quickly when playing. Saving games to finish them is a must if you have a life/family. Put computer on hard and you could find yourself playing for hours just to save yourself from defeat and then another couple hours beating back and defeating the three enemy computers. Not for the simple minded.
