It's more enjoyable to use personal photos as wallpaper instead of sample photos that come preinstalled on your computer. Wallpaper Randomizer randomly displays and changes images of your choice as desktop wallpaper. This free screen utility makes things fun by mixing it up.

Wallpaper Randomizer is easy to access and use. The ReadMe file explains how to get started with the program. Wallpaper Randomizer runs from your computer's system tray; right-clicking the icon calls up its controls. There are also keyboard shortcuts if you want to change your wallpaper without having to click on the program's icon in the system tray. Upon installation, Wallpaper Randomizer prompts you to choose a source folder. We chose our "Pictures" folder. This was a mistake because most of the images we had in there were too high in resolution and not properly sized for wallpaper, and only part of the pictures showed. Right-clicking the application's icon in our system tray let us easily navigate to another folder, though. This time, we chose a folder containing image files we specifically created to be wallpaper. Since these files were all the proper size, they worked great.

We like that you can control which images Wallpaper Randomizer uses, and we like its ability to randomize the display, which keeps things fresh and interesting. Wallpaper Randomizer is free, and it's easy to install and uninstall. This fun program can bring some life to your desktop with images of your choice--just make sure they're all sized properly!

Not a bad piece of software

Summary
I like bells and whistles but sometimes easy and simple is the way to go. This program is a nice alternative to the default windows setup for wallpaper switching. If you like to set a specific folder that holds your pictures which tiles on your set interval then this is the program for you. (=

Ok, it's simple, like I said, easy to use. You download it, then install, you designate your image folder when asked and the program changes the background randomly from the images inside said folder. Just make sure to set your desktop to stretch images so they all fit on your screen. Once you do that you can set it to cycle your background every so often (half a minute, 2, 5, 10 ect) and all you have to do is put new pictures in your designated folder and it will cycle through those too.
Cons
None that I can see.

It's easy to use, self explanatory, takes up virtually no space, and a great way to feel spontaneous.

Pros
I've had it a year, and it still is infinitely entertaining. My stock folder of pictures is an eclectic mix of my kids, stars and galaxies (mainly downloaded from NASA or APOD), and interesting place, animal or natural phenomena (from Nat Geographic and other sources). While I've been writing this note, I've been treated to a volcano, northern lights, zebras, a hurricane from space, sharks, a goat herders hut, and a multitude of galaxies from the Hubble deep image. I also like that my kids get exposed to science, geography and the beauty of the natural world. And they like it too.

everything. program doesn't do anything. unless all your picture files are EXACTLY THE SAME SIZE, you're way out of luck with this thing.

Pros
I have 3 sets of pictures that I alternate showing on my desktop. I never get tired of one picture because it changes regularly and I get to choose which set to use.
Cons
Can't think of any.
Summary
Combined with a screen capture program that lets one keep photos sent to in emails as well as one's own photos, this program relieves the boredom of always having to view the same desktop. It is extremely easy to use and makes creating your own photo albums for desktop viewing fun.

Does what it says...randomizes your wallpaper.
Cons
Does not auto-arrange the sizes of your pictures. Some anti-virus programs may recognize this program as a virus.
Summary
This program does well, for being free. Is not designed to handle wallpaper of multiple sizes. A nice feature is the ability to run it from start and to set the randomization interval. A nice program, to be sure.

It is just about everything you could look for in a wallpaper changer. Like i said before. A very good product. I would recommend it to anyone.

Only one problem with this program. I wish the wallpapers could change a little faster. Say a minute or less.
