Wake On Lan (WOL) is a really great idea. It allows systems to be remotely powered on so long as they were software shutdown. ( i.e. you didn't hit the power button). This is fairly advantageous in for example education institutes where all the computers should be powered on for 9am sharp.

Cons
It is a tar file, not a zip. It is about 3 tar levels deep. The app itself is java based. It wants the MAC address a "broadcast message". I do not know what a broadcast message is.
