• Needs work, not ready for release yet, even at version 2.3.

  Pros

  Potentially contains all you need to build and test a php web site, including apache and mysql. There's no need to install these separately, but you can use your version if desired. <p>Works like other VS projects, with code editing and navigation features.

  Cons

  Added loads of folders and files, all of which don't get saved with the project - when you reopen it, they are all missing. <p>Intellisense disappears after a while, so if you want that, you have to reload the project, losing all said subfolders. <p>Context help is merely adequate and often doesn't find help - standard php manual gets integrated into VS help library. <p>Debugging only works on php code, scripts on the generated pages can't be debugged. <p>Edit and continue is not available, but not much of a problem to just reload the page to achieve this. <p>Locked up VS after project open for 2 days, had to restart machine, rebuild project etc etc. <p>Did a VS find-in-files for entire solution - it never stopped even after the search appeared to be finished - only way to stop it was, you guessed... restart the PC. <p>Doesn't support drag and drop of project files. <p>HTML editing offers only syntax colouring - Microsoft's editor is better (this applies to *.tpl template files etc.). <p>There are lots more glitches, I just can't remember them now.
