Adjust the level of transparency for almost any visible window.
From the developer: "Vitrite is a tiny utility that allows you to manually adjust the level of transparency for almost any visible window. It works by utilizing a feature built into Windows 2000/XP (and all later incarnations) for variable window transparency. Vitrite is written in C and licensed under the GNU General Public License."
Won't work if you have GAIM-Transparency Plug-in installed

Pros
Cons
If you use the GAIM IM client with the Transparency plug-in installed you won't be able to use Vitrite unless you uninstall the GAIM-Transparency plug-in and install Vitrite. They both must use the same Windows feature for the transparency to work. I like GAIM therefore I didn't even attempt to uninstall the transparency plug-in. Not worth the risk. If anyone has successfully got GAIM-transparency and Vitrite working please pass it on. :)

Very nice.

Pros
It is free, and it's a small program- it does what it is meant to do. It is unobtrustive, and doesn't have any gawdy popups. You use keyboard shortcuts to configure it.
Cons
On my system when I move the window manually it reverts to being solid.

Why pay for it when you can get this for free? It does exactly what it says it's going to do, and there's no ifs/ands/buts about it.
