Pros
An absolutely fantastic utility! This dealio saves me a ton of time testing my services particularly in cases where I need to build datasets using the dataset editing features as the OP described. I'm able to lazily build my datasets from a sql statement :) <p> <p>I use Visual WS in a team setting. Not only do I NOT have to write/test/support a test app, I'd say that it has helped us to maintain consistency (not to mention I'm alerted of web service changes and I'm able to compare the differences). I'm also able to better manage my services since they can all be registered and stored within the app along with their credentials. <p> <p>The results are displayed nicely. I love its "smart" formatting and its ability to discern most of my image formats. <p> <p>I believe that this is essential to anyone working with web services.
Cons
I haven't found any problems with this utility.

Pros
Really love the interface! Its easy to use, with alot of pointy-clicky stuff. I don't have to do alot of tedious setup or XML configuration. I just give it my web service location and WHAM! I can do a ton with it. Execute web methods, view the results, tweak, run it all over again with a couple clicks. The viewing/editing of datasets is a HUGE timesaver for me too (since we use that quite a bit). <p> <p>I used this to debug our web service, and it helped tremedously. We also used it to help debug our client, by comparing outputs. This is going in my toolbox of excellent developer apps.
Cons
Would like to see more support for testing, and scripting. Which, it appears from their site, is coming in their Pro release.
