Visual Communicator enables anyone to easily create video presentations in minutes. Unlike other video creation tools, Visual Communicator doesn't require special equipment or training to use. It works at a desk with any webcam or camcorder and is based on a simple wizard with dozens of templates that completely eliminate time-consuming video editing. With news-style graphics, a built-in teleprompter, and green screen effects for background replacement, users create video projects that look as if they were made inside a network television studio. When videos are completed, they can quickly be published to share via websites, email, and CDs/DVDs. Version 2 introduces flexible recording and real-time editing to enhance the ease of the video creation process.

Don't bother downloading...you can't install it.

I have no idea because Adobe won't give you an install key.
Cons
Adobe isn't doing trial downloads right now.
Summary
As the previous reviewer noted, you can not install this trial. It asks for an install key which takes you to Adobe and they don't give you a key. After July 6, 2009 they will supposedly offer trial downloads directly from Adobe again, but right now they won't.

i bet there a lot of good things this program used to do, but no one will be able to install it.
Cons
When installing itrequested an install key and the link in the installer to get one went to Adobe. Obviously Adobe has bought out this company, and nothing has been changed to accommodate for this.
Summary
Don't waste your time downloading, bc you cannot install this software without installation key that you cannot obtain through the software.
It WAS good, but now it's Adobe.

I used this version for a few years. It works well, does what it claims, and is esy to use. The resulting videos are smooth and look great.The software USED to be relatively cheap at $189 and you USED to get support from Serious Magic.
Cons
It's way over priced now -- Adobe bought Serious Magic and now owns Visual Communicator. Now it's $399, i.e., more than twice as expensive, and from their web page, has essentially the same capability. As Adobe usually does, it adds a few small features, fixes a couple of bugs, and then offers an "upgrade" for $149. So if you paid $189 for version 2, you can "upgrade" for only $149. And you get the usual additional bugs and poor support tossed in for free! Welcome to Adobe. For $400 you'd be better off getting a full video editing suite to get more control and variety in your videos.

A very nice approach to movie making. Never had thought of that! Takes a little time to understand. Serious Magic explans it well! I really think you should give a go. I'm Buying it!

I am a college student and needed a program to combine a couple of .avi files I took with my digital camera. Without reading instructions, it took some time to play around and figure it out but once I did, it is VERY easy and fun! It has many transitions, sounds and other things. Worth the download and price! I can't wait to share it with the class.
Cons
When I try to publish the file...my laptop shuts off. I guess it's either the program or my laptop. It works better on the computer though.

I'm no video pro but I've tried using a lot of different video editing programs. Visual Communicator is the first that lets me make videos that look really pro and it's very fast to use. Believe the reviews above, this thing really is different and definitely worth a look. Installing the demo download was easy. Making my first video took about five minutes (yep, minutes not hours). It's great that there's no waiting for rendering. So far I've made some personal videos but my best one is a quick training video I did for work. My boss was really excited when she saw the video and I was able to get immediate approval to buy Visual Communicator without going through the normal purchasing hassle. A first! I think users of all experience levels will enjoy this software. Especially if you have been frustrated sometimes by other video programs. Next week we'll be using it to create our own product introduction video for our website. Our last product intro vid cost us $2200 from a TV company and didn't look as good as what we can do ourselves with Visual Communicator.

Summary
Visual Communicator allows me to produce exceptionally professional looking corporate communications in a matter of minutes. The "VScreen" functionality is amazing! Just like the movie studios do with greenscreens. Now no one will know how much of a mess my office really is! Replacing much of the out-sourced video production with this inexpensive product should make it a "no-brainer". And if schools aren't all over this for things like distance learning on the teaching side and student projects like book reports and such - I think they're missing the boat. This is the future of how inexpensive communication is going to be achieved. I certainly can't imagine how it could get much easier or more intuitive!
