Add realistic 3D capabilities to your online Live Search Maps.
Virtual Earth 3D brings you another step closer to knowing "what it is like out there". You can search, browse, and organize local information viewed in three dimensions, just the way it exists in the real world. This enables you to more effectively find the data that is relevant to you, making Live Maps more useful than ever. Even better - it's just plain fun.
Cannot think of anything good to say about this product. It is really called Bing Earth.
Cons
Cannot do anything street level with this product as I can with Google Earth.
Summary
Don't waste your time or energy on this product.

Summary
I had this product on my last computer & liked it fairly well. Downloaded from this site today, and when it finished, it directed me to an MS site for finalization of the download. That site no longer exists, nor can you find the product on any of the MS search pages. So now I have the product taking up space on my computer, but it is not useable.
The program downloaded fine, but would not open.

Pros
It's hard to evaluate a program that won't even open on my machine.
Cons
Nonfunctional.
Summary
It doesn't work.
Virtual Earth Sucks!!
Ollie_K
Pros
3D Graphics would be interesting if they would display.
Cons
Poorly designed, buggy, typical half-baked Microsoft product, even as a beta.
Summary
Don't bother, this puppy is not nearly ready for prime time. Try again in 2010. Stick with Google Earth. Far superior to this product.
Safer than Google Earth on memory
Jonnyabc
Pros
1) Browser friendly
2) Integrated with Live Maps for easy switching between 2d and 3d
3) Birdseye View
4) 3d landscapes and buildings look relatively realistic to the real thing
5) Move tools are easy to use (especially with keyboard shortcuts)
Cons
1) Make sure your computer has been recently defragged before attempting to run
2) Have a relatively fast internet connection
Summary
When I tried out Google Earth, my computer was having nothing but problems. However, Virtual Earth requires no external program, only an up-to-date computer/browser.
Comparing it to Google Earth, it certainly does not have as many features. However, if it did, it would be a memory hog too. Nevertheless, VE is a great deal, considering it's free.
What a clumsy application!

Pros
I am please with the quality of Virtual Earth. I haven't learned all I can do in it yet. I get awe struck with each new screen so it will take me a while to get on to the other options.
Cons
I haven't seen the focus and clarity I would like in a satellite connection.
