Virtual Cover Creator for Windows

User Reviews

• There are online solutions that are easier & better.

 JerryM65January 20, 2013

 Pros

 I can't think of one.

 Cons

Price is too high. Product is not easy to use. Do you really need any more?

 Summary

Why use this when there are inexpensive online options that do not require a download? Try 3Dcovermaker.com for a much better solution to making 3D covers.

 Pros

 Neat website with neat examples.

 Cons

The product couldn't even work for me. I get the same DirectX error message as everybody else. I'm running Vista, not even Windows 7 or anything fancy. I have DirectX 11.

 Summary

Dont buy this product unless you try the trial version first. It just doesn't work.

 Pros

 None. Unable to run

 Summary

This product does not work, at least not on Vista

• It's Junk and a waste of my time!

 Pros

There are no pros. The software does not work at all.

 Cons

Software has major errors. It does not shut down when it has errors, it just stays in the background running.

 Summary

It says it is version 2.2, but the Readme file says v2.10. I installed the software and tried to run it, I got the error of "There was an error initializing DirectX!. Make sure you have DirectX 8.1 or later installed." I have the latest version of DirectX installed (10). I even downloaded the VB6 runtime files just in case that was the cause.. I noticed very soon that my computer started to run to a crawl. I looked at the processes running. There were about 8 copies of Covers.exe running. Apparently, when the program gives that error and you click OK, it doesn't terminate the program. It just stays running in the background taking up system resources. I emailed the company yesterday. It's still morning where I'm at, but no response. I can't see me spending $90 on a program that is so buggy.

Updated on Oct 4, 2010
I tried the software again. No change. This time I tried to submit a support request through their online form. I got a 500 Internal Server Error. This makes sense. It's obvious that the company cannot create software that works nor setup something as simply as a CGI form processor. I just noticed on their website that the release date for the Virtual Cover Creator 2.1 January 18, 2004. This software hasn't been touched in over six years. Their most recent product release date is September 26, 2006. Poor excuse for a company. Don't waste your time.
