USB External Camera/Webcam is a free multimedia application designed for Android devices, enabling users to utilize standard webcams as external camera systems. By connecting a webcam via an OTG (on-the-go) USB adapter, the app provides a straightforward interface to display camera output and capture images. Users can take single photos or set an interval mode to capture images every second, making it suitable for various applications, including inspections and adventure recording.

Top Recommended Alternative

The app's versatility allows it to serve multiple purposes, such as a rear-view camera for vehicles, an inspection tool for building and pipe assessments, or a wearable camera for extreme sports. However, it requires specific hardware compatibility, including ROOT-SUPERUSER access, a V4L kernel, and USB host support. While most major webcam brands are supported, not all webcams guarantee functionality. Users are advised to connect the webcam before launching the application for optimal performance.
