Paper documents are still around, but with iOS apps like TurboScan, you'll find it easier to go paperless.

The app launches ready for action with simple controls at the top to take pictures or start scanning. With the Camera option, you snap a picture and that app will guide you to the editing phase, just like any other scanner. The SureScan 3x option takes three pictures and combines them into one single document. Although the app doesn't always detect the edges of a document very well, it does a decent-enough job overall, and we liked the fact that while you adjust the edges it magnifies the section in a separate window so details of that part become visible.

After you have named your document -- a handy addition as you can search through your document names -- you can e-mail it to yourself or send it to your Evernote or Box.net account, or to another recipient as a JPEG or PDF file. If you have an AirPrint-enabled printer, you can print your scanned docs, too. The app is set to scan in black and white by default, but there is a Color option. While the app proved easy to use, we suggest you start with the guide, which includes detailed information on using the app and getting the best-quality scans.

TurboScan works well and with a price just under $2, it's an inexpensive way to add scanning functionality to your iOS device.
