If you happen to have bookmarked a lot of sites using one browser and wanted to use a different one to visit those same sites, there is now no need to find and bookmark them again. Transmute Portable from Darq Software is free software that will do it for you.

The standalone application, which doesn't need to be installed, presents a simple interface that requires little, if any, explanation. Just tell it where to get the bookmarks (Source) and where to put it (Target), hit Export, and it's done. The software supports all the major browsers. There is no Help button but there is a link to the publisher's Web site where additional information can be found. While some browsers let you import bookmarks without any outside assistance, we liked this easy-to-use app and found that it worked exactly as promised.

Transmute Portable is simple software built for this one purpose -- transferring your bookmarks -- a function that it does well. We found no issues with installing and removing the application.

Hard to swallow, there's finally a Perfect bookmark app

It does it perfectly. All areas, toolbar, menu, unsorted.

Summary
Most browsers have their import/export bookmark function and each with the other browsers only works so so, getting the bookmarks there but also making a mess, especially if using many same bookmarks in each. And if you have many bookmarks the cleaning chore turns into the nightmare cleanup chore. This is a tool many have been waiting for. I could see one tiny irritation, and that would be browser specific bookmarks which are few. But for me, all browser related bookmarks are available from the preferences menu of each browser... This is simply a great program.

Pros
This app is easy to use and worked great for me to import my Firefox bookmarks to Opera. -- I used the portable versions as to avoid the need for installation.
Cons
None that I found, but I only used it once and only with Opera and Firefox.
Summary
I was attracted to this program because the only Firefox bookmark file that I have on my system has a json file extension, and during an attempt to import to Opera I found that it only accepts HTMLfiles for Firefox.. - This program knows where the default file locations are for most browsers and handles the transfer simply and effectively.
