• Accurately reports counts for Word, PDF, HTML files.

  Pros

  This program accurately counts the words in HTML, Word, and PDF rile types. The layout of the Word Count Report for multiple files is attractive, functional, and looks very official for record keeping purposes - can be saved by printing to a pdf.

  Cons

  My only complaint is that it won't count PowerPoint - a serious drawback for a word count program. Seems somewhat short sighted to ignore this MS Office file type. Otherwise, a very nice and reliable free program to add to my drive.

  Summary

  In summary, this word count program would be rated as a 5-STAR program IF it had included the ability to count words in the PowerPoint file type. This is a serious omission in functionality - especially for businesses which oftentimes utilize PPT files for publication and in-house training. Otherwise, it works extremely well, is accurate, and its reporting format is superior - it has multi-file and summary data reporting capability, and it can be saved by printing to a PDF file. I will definitely keep this one in my cadre of useful tools .... and will hope for the inclusion of the PPT file type in the future. Naturally I feel a bit guilty, complaining about FREE software for any reason .... but I think that the free software that a company puts out there potentially reflects on its commercial products as well, in terms of insight and forethought about functionality and the needs of its customers.
