• Great program for your travels!

  Pros

  Easy to use, great looks, supports videos, upload possibility. This program focusses on creating an interactive travel album rather than just tagging your photos with the GPS location. Combined with the upload possibilty it really stands out.

  Cons

  It is not possible to download tracks of others to re-use them. Also, I would like to see a possibility to print a kind of album.

  Summary

  When you travel, you take photos and videos along the route, but after a while it is difficult to say where your photo was taken. You lose the details of your travel over time. I was looking for a convenient and simple to use program to capture more of my trip. There are multiple products that can add a location to a photograph and show the photo on a map, but in my opinion, "Track 'n share your GPS adventures" does this best. The program uses a wizard to add trips. The track can be imported directly from my Garmin GPS. The wizard that allows you to do some basic operations on the GPS track, adding text (public and private and adding photos and videos. Once a trip is added you can sit back and enjoy a great interactive tour of your trip, on the embedded Google Maps and Google Earth views. A nice feature of the program is that you can remove a part of your track by placing 2 markers in the Google map. The track in between those markers can then be deleted. I used this feature to remove some unaccuracies in my GPS track. In the next step of the wizard you can add text. The program autmatically determines the countries you have visited and displays the flags. You have 2 text fields, one for public and one for private text. Only public text is uploaded to track-n-share.com if you choose to upload. The next screen allows you to add videos and photos. Adding videos and photos is done in exactly the same manner which makes it very convenient. The program copies all photos and videos to its data folder. Once the photos are loaded, all you have to do is to enter the date/time and timezone of your camera and the program will automaticlly assign the correct location to all photos and videos. This is very convenient and easy to use. Alternatively you can enter a manual time correction. Once the media are tagged, you can add comments, rotate photos and complete the wizard. You then have the option to share your trip online. A neat feature is that videos are automatically converted (down-sized) and uploaded to YouTube. Trips shared online are public, but you can choose which photos and videos you want to share. This way you can keep a more detailed personal trip on your computer and only show highlights of your trip online. No doubt the greatest feature is the tour mode. Once you have created your adventure, you can show it in tour mode on the embedded Google Earth and Google Maps views. In tour mode, the program automatically shows a slideshow of photos. This makes a nice extended slideshow. Normally you show your friends only a slideshow of photos. When you use this application, your friends can also see the surrounding area. Especially the Google Earth tour is very impressive. Videos are automatically played in the embedded media player. The program is already great, but I can see some improvements. It would be great if the user would be able to print the trip as an album. Many people like to still have their memories on paper and it would be nice to have an album that combines the maps and the photos. Also, I would like to have an option to download tracks of others. The program already features an internal viewer for the website, but you can currently only view the trips others have created. I gave this program 5 stars, since I think it is excellent, it looks good and is easy to use.
