TipCam got the basics of screen recording right with its medium-glossy freeware beta, and it has a few tricks all its own. You'll be able to start, pause, delete, and preview your screencasts from the small recording controls window, even draw on annotations while you record. Brilliantly, if you press the hot key to zoom in, the zoom window will follow your mouse until or unless you lock it in place. Unfortunately, the TipCam control panel doesn't do so well. If you're not careful, it might inadvertently star in your screencast. After you become familiar with the icons, it's best to switch to mini mode.

You can configure TipCam to capture your audio recordings, as well. While there's no post-production studio for cleaning up audio if you mess up, you can rerecord your narrative with the voice-over tool. It's not perfect, but it's better than having to rerecord takes. A separate audio track would be ideal.

TipCam's best surprises let you record remote screens using a VNC server, and deliver uploads to UtipU.com, to YouTube (you can set this as a default), or as a private link that will load in your default e-mail client. If only TipCam would get some post-production tools, it could take on its better-established competition.

Pros
Price is right. Has worked and been more stable then other things that cost. I have used it for flight sim videos. I like the annotations option.
Cons
They could do more with the web page. Annotations could have text and not just drawing.

It recorded the audio but it didn't capture what was going on with my screen.
Cons
I downloaded this a minute ago. Tried to record some actions I was doing on my browser (Mozilla) and it didn't work. I was mostly sitting back doing nothing but even when I had mouse clicks, it didn't capture the changes the mouse clicks caused.
Summary
I didn't work. This is only my experience. I may have done something wrong. But now you know. I'm may play around. If it works, I'll update this review. If it doesn't, I'll just delete the program and move on.

Although this program does have some nice features, it does not match it's competition. I have found other free recording software that works much better and has more features (espeically HD and wide-screen support).

Pros
Records well and i never saw the video go choppy. Also greys out passwords and your desktop so people cant see your private stuff! There are a ton of features that are benifitial... And the best thing ITS FREE!!!

MMMM, it did have one major flaw, when I shut it down my CPU and RAM usage went up the wall and i was getting choppy feedback fromt the mouse. And it didnt restore my desktop... only happened once though so it might have just been a fluke.

I wanted to be able to record WoW for my guild site... For those newbies!! Well it crashed on me! Havent tried it since! Over-All: A great program that shows promise! There are some flaws though that make this a not so good choice...
Caused My Monitor To Go Into Sleep Mode

This is easy to use and I love that it could zoom in.

Suddenly caused my monitor to go into sleepmode anytime I hit the record button.
Summary
It's ok, just not sure why all of a sudden it was incompatible with my PC. I uninstalled and fresh installed and yet the problem was still there. I had updated my drivers as well and still clueless as to why it wasn't functioning correctly.

Seems to me it would be a great tool for building tutorials and the such or perhaps letting your IT Guy know exactlly what is going on....
Cons
It didnt do what I needed which is record full screen apps for a software presentation...Had issues with the Mirage Driver included with the pacage also.
