The Edge is a software product and subscription service which is used to analyze spread and over/under totals for NFL football games. Users purchase a license for the season which allows them full access to all software features, game info and team statistics uploads when available.This system allows the comparison of selected statistics for the teams competing. Using the product's genetic algorithm tools, users determine a scheme or formula that correctly predicts the result of past games. Schemes created can be used to predict the results of future games.

Central to the application is the ability to give importance weightings to a variety of team stats represented by visual track-bars. This essentially is an evolvable neural network that makes score predictions for specific games. Other features include automatically generated English language reports describing the games under analysis, as well as a "Betting Simulator" feature which allows a user to hone their handicapping skills by analyzing and placing simulated wagers on past games where the actual scores are hidden.
