TextWedge is a text-file splitter with an editor interface, or a text editor with a file splitting interface. It provides a number of splitting criteria: byte count, line count, hits on search terms, and the lines where the values of sort keys change.
I installed it and it didn't work.
I can't think of any pros.
Cons
Can't even handle a 600MB file without running out of memory on a very capable machine with an 8 core processor and 6GB RAM (with plenty available) running Windows 7.
I have 4 monitors and it always opens full screen on one monitor.
It doesn't save any configuration, so each time it crashed and I re-opened it, I had to reconfigure how I wanted the files split.
Summary
I downloaded and installed this to split up a 600MB csv file into multiple parts. It couldn't do it without using all the memory on my computer and (the app) crashing.

Pros
I am developer and wanted to split one big code file into small pieces. I have best known tool, PowerGrep to do similar job but its horrible help stopped me from using it!
Thanks a ton!

Pros
I needed to split a file with over a million lines. Split it into 250 chunks in about a minute. No install needed is excellent. Worked first try, no loss of Data. Exceptional piece of work.
Cons
I didn't explore it much, used it for literally one minute. I wouldn't want to have to load a giga-file before splitting. Maybe you don't have to, but i didn't see.
