Control several Macs with the same mouse & keyboard.
Teleport is a simple utility to let you use one single mouse and keyboard to control several of your Macs. Simply reach the edge of your screen, and your mouse teleports to your other Mac. The pasteboard can even be synchronized between the computers. Using the convenient Preferences Pane, you configure which hosts you want to control, arrange them graphically like in the Monitors panel, and you're ready! Simply reach an edge of the screen where a slave host is connected, and you take control of the other Mac. The keyboard is acting like if it was connected on the controlled host, and the pasteboard has optionally been synchronized. On the master computer, a nice notification indicates that it controls another Mac, and shows you the position of your mouse cursor. To take back control of your main Mac, simply drag the mouse back from where your cursor came, just like when you have several monitors.

Great idea, works for a while, then won't and men...

...i
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Firstly, this is an inspired idea that one wonders how Apple missed.
Issue #1: Can you please fix the menu bar item to stay in the menu bar even when disabled? To have to always go back to the System Preferences to re-enable it is surprise hand to forehead moment.
Issue #2: It stops working after a while. You get the cool radiating red thingies on the edge that indicate you are really wanting to teleport over to your other machine but the cursor won't go, rather it just keeps bouncing off the edge. Scotty needs to fix the transporter.
Other than that, great idea I'd like to use consistently one day.
I am so impressed !

- For PPC, you just must go to the developer web site where you can find a version
- Add the pref.panel only for the current user
... and it simply works ! Even French keyboard works whereas it was transformed into Qwerty one with Apple screen shared...
I hope the developer has a way to get donation easely... he will receive mine !
AMAZING!

I have a Mac Pro with 2 23" screens plus a MacBook sitting next to it.
I have Mail and iChat open on the laptop an my graphic apps on the MacPro.
So now I can send files from my MacPro to contacts in iChat with just a simple drag&drop!
Copy/Paste between machines is also a great time saver.
Feature request:
- Wacom support: To have the target machine recognize the wacom tablet and not switch it into mouse mode when "teleporting" (I have the driver installed on both machines)
This is Truly a Great App.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I have tried other solutions (freeware and demo) over the past few days, to share my G5's keyboard and mouse with my G4 Powerbook, and nothing has held a candle to teleport yet. It is simple to implement, practical to use, and best of all, it works like a charm. While other software attempts to seemlessly port the keyboard and mouse, I have found that many things are lost in translation. With the exception of the volume control keys and the eject key (which I can happily live without) all of the mac keyboard and mouse functions work with teleport as if the devices were native (so far as I have checked anyhow). Examples of functions that teleport supports, while the others I have tried do not, are:

- Correct operation of Cmd and Option keys (copying fils and making aliases, etc.) and Function keys
- Cmd-Tab app switching
- Functional implementation of scroll acceleration (scrolling was painful using other software)
- Tripple clicking (highlight url in address bar, etc.)

Adding to this a real ability to copy and paste, and drag and drop, places teleport lightyears ahead of other KM solutions. I now have no need for the "wormhole" type app I was using to simplify file transfer... what could be simpler than draging and dropping?

Simply Fantastic, and "only" in beta form...

Many thanks to the developer.

Easy to configure.
And it works as described!
I have a MBP sitting between an eMac and a 20" iMac. Even ctrl-mouse scroll zooms the screen! This is acutally really handy as the iMac is some 10 feet away and some of the find detail on the screen can be hard to read.
