As a software synthesizer, SynthMaster combines many different synthesis methods such as additive synthesis, subtractive synthesis, ring modulation, amplitude modulation, frequency / phase modulation, pulse width modulation, osc sync and waveshaping. As a multi-fx plug-in, it features 8 band parametric EQ/filterbank, 16 band Vocoder, Stereo Tremolo, Stereo Chorus, Stereo Delay and Stereo Reverb.

An error popped up when trying to install and said that it cannot find a certain file. I tried to cancel the install and it said that it cannot read disk. Either this software is full of bugs or it secretly contains spyware and adaware.

easy to understand interface (incredibly intuitive!), cool included sounds, it connected with my external MIDI device immediately (the current version of Cakewalk took me two weeks). you can play from the computer-keyboard or from an external device, and can save WAV files.
Cons
the help files/tutorials are not included, and you're limited to 5 note/voice polyphony in the free version. <p>the computer keyboard-to-notes was a little confusing ... could use a map or something of which keys play which notes ... and i didn't find the 'vocoder' feature (which is why i downloaded it in the first place).
