You won't turn to SWF 'n Slide for complex projects, but there's a lot to be said for ease and simplicity. Unlike full-fledged animation packages, you'll learn the ropes here in minutes. The interface is clear, although attempting sophisticated projects likely will be too time consuming since images, sound, and text are edited separately.

SWF 'n Slide helps you publish your creation to the Web in Flash or QuickTime formats, or package it in a stand-alone executable that runs on PCs and Macs. To make files smaller, you can compress still more music and images. SWF 'n Slide's straightforward functionality and interface make it a solid choice for non-professionals.

too good to be true

Pros
cannot think of any, crashes on open
Cons
cannot think of any, crashes on open
Summary
if it cannot run I cannot use it.
Good balance of functionality and ease of use

Pros
Can control almost everything about each individual slide, e.g. position, scale, quality, pan, zoom, text. Has sensible defaults for each parameter, but allows manual input of everything.
Can drag-and-drop images in the sorting view (obvious, but not all products do this)
Good value.
Cons
Less control over the appearance (template) than over photos.
Soundtrack continues playing when show is paused or stopped.
Probably not the best for someone who simply wants the very simplest interface.
Summary
Easy to use, customizable, most options for the price!!

Pros
I needed a flash slideshow for a web site I maintain and checked out several inexpensive software programs here on Download.com -- this one is very easy to use and seemed to be the most customizable and have more options than the other programs. It's extremely easy to use and the price is definitely right!!
Cons
I haven't discovered anything I don't like about it and I have a feeling I'll discovery more that I do like about it as I use it more!
Summary

Summary
Great support, great product, did what I needed it to do

Pros
I had a hard time finding a slideshow type product that would generate smallish sized files playable in flash with a presentation of slideshow images allowing "variable time length" slide so that audio could be tailored to each slide.

None of this stuff is easy, but SWF 'n Slide does allow this to be done and it works well, once all the basic tutorials are read etc. The result is exactly what I needed, complete with "start pause rewind" etc. control buttons. Very configurable program, lots of power without being a "career" study to get it done.

Support was excellent, I had a few questions such as needing a more complete version of Quicktime to get the audio generated properly by the program, they helped with all of this, rapidly. Much appreciated.
Cons
At the end of the day, no negatives. Couldn't find another program that would get this job done, short of jumping into a huge study on building with Flash. This program spared me that grief to get my project done.
