Not many freeware system cleaning utilities combine functionality, efficiency, and good design as well as this toolset. Sweepi's fluid interface changes to meet the goals of each tool. However, most are similar enough to not confuse users. The only interface glitch was an occasional unexpected German word. For novice users, the program offers an optional effective wizard.

Sweepi's prime file removal function is well designed and very flexible. The dozens of file areas the program checks can be easily tested individually, in select groups, or all at once. Selecting an area to clean displays a helpful description; while searching and cleaning takes only a couple of clicks. Advanced users will like the simple one-click QuickClean function. In addition to cleaning files off your system, the ShortCutter function makes short work of finding and deleting invalid shortcuts.

Sweepi's BootManager is an improvement over the Windows Startup Manager with descriptions for each item in addition to the normal file paths and Registry settings. Adding this freeware to your system is an easy decision to make for every user looking for a system cleaning tool suite.

Pros
A lightweight internet file/registry cleaner ideal for closing down after a day's work.
Cons
A problem with SweepiSlicerDel when overwriting an external harddrive. Builds a 'holding' file of 100+ MB which is very difficult to remove if over-writing is terminated prior to completing task.

Make sure your browser is closed down when you run program, otherwise it will freak out pages you have loaded. (more details below)

I left Firefox open when I ran this and had 9 tabs open. I only had Sweepi clear the cache and cookies, not the history. This was a mistake because apparently it clears the cache in a way that confuses FF and causes it to not load the pages correctly. Even sites I didn't have loaded would only show text, no graphics at all. Even clicking refresh-shift wouldn't fix the problem. I shut down FF and restarted and 3 of the pages I had in tabs couldn't load because it couldn't find the cached versions. This sucks because I didn't have them bookmarked. I had to go into FF's privacy settings and clear the cache manually, then it reset itself so that pages would load right.

Pros
I downloaded to eliminate true junk and previously deleted files from some space conscious hard drives of less than 6 GB in computers donated to a Veterans Home.
Cons
As of now, I am not aware of a major dislike with this program. At least, I haven't tripped over one yet.

After I ran it, I thought it was done. Next system boot- Sweepi is running in the "background" and taking up nearly 100% cpu usage. I open sweepi up and for some reason, everything is in German. Good thing you can uninstall it without anything going wrong.
