This plug-in filter creates 3D and 2D textures and lighting effects on any object. To use SuperBladePro, you need a paint program that accepts standard Photoshop 3.0 plug-ins, such as Paint Shop Pro. We were able to create some pretty elaborate textures fairly easily. In our tests, the varying textures and surfaces, from tarnished metal to overgrown moss, rendered quickly in the preview window, making it fun to experiment. The user interface is a bit daunting at first, due to all the choices and possibilities. If you're not sure where to start, you can just roll the dice for a randomly generated texture, then tweak the results until you get an effect you're happy with. Photoshop enthusiasts and designers should appreciate SuperBladePro.

Awesome - when it works

Pros
SuperBlade Pro can help achieve a huge variety of dimensional and texturing effects. The range of effects achievable is vast and has many uses. Its downright fun to play with. Flaming Pear offers a generous trial period.
Cons
Its files can become corrupted, crashing Photoshop. Reinstalling does not fix the problem. Flaming Pear doesn't respond to requests for support - a problem noted by many of their clients.
Summary
If you are good at doing your own software trouble-shooting - including hunting down corrupted files that have been saved somewhere among your application support directories, and knowing which you can delete or edit - then this is an addition to your plugin library you should not miss. Otherwise you are taking your chances that it will someday crash, and you rely on the company for assistance. If it weren't for lack of support and corruptibility, I'd give it 5 stars without a second thought.
