• Still doesn't work for artificially lit interiors

  Pros

  Faster than most rendering softwares... exteriors and interiors with many windows look fine... was happy they added artificial lighting to this version (which are easy to place in Sketchup)

  Cons

  Horrible interior lighting and brightness controls. Hard to navigate in walk though mode (goes too fast with no ability to change speed). With sun shining on a single window anything lit is too bright and anything not lit is almost black. Published Livecubes have a terrible hatched look to the materials, and have no ability to raise or lower interior lights (and for whatever reason, you have no ability to control any type of lighting period if you render in any mode higher than standard). Changing a material's setting seemed to make no difference. I read the instructions and still don't see why some objects aren't rendered. Despite the walls in my model being 6" thick, I still have light bleed in weird places. I spent hours messing with lights and brightness controls, and still couldn't get a decent jpeg out of it.

  Summary

  I have version 2 and was always having problems with interior renders... I assumed the interior lights would fix this, but they work nothing like true light in a room. The livecubes that they offer on their site look great, but of course they are lit from the sun. I hope someday they will fix their bugs and give some more lighting options that could be set by the publisher of a livecube so that clients wouldn't have to try to constantly mess with lighting just to see what is supposed to be presented to them.
