• Not what I expected in a Sudoku solver

  If you are a beginner and want a sudoku program that will plug in numbers when you get stuck (without teaching you any techniques), this is for you.

  Cons

  1. Hassle entering puzzle 2. Doesn't show candidates 3. Hint gives you a cheat - no explanation of how it got there

  Summary

  The whole point of a sudoku solver is to teach you the game. I use them when I am doing a puzzle by hand and I get stuck. There aren't any good solvers for advanced techniques. Anyway, to enter a puzzle into this solver, you have to click each square to enter a number - you can't tab or arrow or press enter. Then, it doesn't show the possible candidates for each square. And finally, the HINT gives you the answer for a square without the technique used to place it there. I left a previous review before I tried it - I should have waited. Sudoku solvers should offer all of the things I mentioned. But if you are using it to do a simple sudoku puzzle program at a beginner's level, it might be good for you.

  The only worse than having to face Sudoku in the newspaper is having to face Sudoku on your computer! it's just as bland as the version in the newspaper too!AVOID!

  Pros

  I liked it. It sets you up with new random games, that you can get hints to, or solve. Nice save and load functionality. Seems like most people who play sudoku would like it.

  Next version could use printing functionality.
