  This is a massively multiplayer 2d spaceship game. It is 10 years old (literally: as I write this review it is November 30, 2007, the game was released November 30, 1997.) I've been playing it since early 1998. There a many different zones with many different types of gameplay which makes the replay value extremely high. There is also very competitive leagues which have also kept me playing for a long time. The game is completely player run and is always being expanded and improved upon. I must warn you: It can be difficult and frustrating at first, but if you give it a real chance then you may end up becoming addicted to it as I have :)

  Make our own squad. Join a squad. Play a number of different zones with different rules, shipresets, objectives, etc. I've been an addict for 7+ years, better than any game I paid money for. <p> <p>PLAY EXTREME GAMES!

  Being an avid Subspace player since it came out years and years ago, the short history is that it is still a free online Asteroids-meets-deathmatch shooter, with plenty of variations. A popular one is "Powerball," which is essentially a soccer game - pass the ball, kill the enemy, and score. You can check out powerballzon.com for updates on the game, leagues that are player-run, and access our message board. Anyone new to the game that wants some pointers, feel free to drop by. ALSO, HIGHLY IMPORTANT: The game is now called "Continuum." Since Virgin Interactive Entertainment folded years ago, the game is now fully player run. There are updated clients/program files, and the name is now officially called "Continuum." It can be downloaded for free at powerballzon.com. The game is incredibly intense and addictive. It takes some getting used to but it's worth. Easily my favorite game of all time.

  This game is amazing. It revolutionalized gaming with a impressive chat interface TODAY (and ss came out about a decade ago) It is very addicting if you give it time. The graphics are old, but when you get in the game and get used to it, you won't be complaining about options. Love this game, will play it forever if I have to host it myself.

  I spent alot of time learning how to play this only on the Extreme Games Server. Thought it was fun at first, but once I got good at it. The regular players became abusive. Also wasted hours playing the same game to win it for the jackpot/points, but when the jackpot becomes high your whole team quits and they all become private teams and not public. At that point they become abusive and tell you to leave, that you are not worthy of the points cause you are new.I have always loved video games, but have thought about giving them up forever due to this Extreme Games in particular. Never have I wasted so much time at a game and regretted it so dearly.
