This real-time strategy game features three playable races with distinct units, structures, and abilities.
Strifeshadow is a multiplayer real-time strategy game set in a fantasy world. It features three playable races: the accursed, the dark elves, and the sylvans. Each of the three races has a unique set of 12 units and several structures that provide different advantages and disadvantages.
Although this game's graphic and sound features surpassed that of Starcraft's, Its gameplay did not. It reminded me of star craft completly. My advice would be to get this one and see if you like it. If you don't, don't get a game such as starcraft, if you do, starcraft may be an option to consider. Although this was only a demo, I could tell it would not be all too great of a game. (I don't think you'll be seeing it on Gamespy anytime soon) It is still fun and interesting and involves much strategy, but others are better, and it is quite limited. The best feature in my opinion would be the towers that automaticly collect resources from the pools for you. (Its a lot better than having your kobolds gather it for you) I think the game was very fun and challegning, but needs a few fixes.

An excellent RTS

Summary
This is easily the best RTS that's been released this year. It plays on a lot of Starcraft's features, but enhances on micromanagement. Battles are slowed down, allowing a larger degree of control over them. The game uses a very innovative resource system, and in short is a very fun game to play. Unfortunately, there isn't any computer AI's to fight, or a campaign mode. Network play available, and Interplay play works thru Gamespy's servers. This is the type of game a person should move on to, after getting a good feel for less strategical RTSs like Starcraft or Command & Conquer.

Summary
This is a great game if you're into the multi-player strategy scene - kiddie rushers need not apply. This game is great if you're into real strategy and tactics. Lots of balance between units and races I don't know what some of the reviewers are talking about when they claim this game has poor graphics becuase it doesn't! The graphics are very detailed and have a lot of animation and uniqueness to them. Also, game play is fast and terrific on my K6-300 Mhz 128Mb, and that's running Win2K Professional - definitely not the best gaming platform. I theorize that the people who are claiming bad graphics or slow/lagging game play have problems maintaining a running computer or just have junk hardware as I've played it on a variety of machines at work and with friends and they've all run fine. If you demo it, you'll want to buy it so beware. And a new, good game for $30 is a great steal!
