Sterling2 is based on Sterling, a fractal-generating program written in 1999 by Stephen C. Ferguson. Apart from the name, the program looks just like the original Sterling. Note that the formula descriptions have not changed--these are incorrect in Sterling2. The only part that has changed are the 50 formulae that one can choose from.

Summary
It is a pleasure to revisit Sterling - if you have used it before. Thank you to the Author for not changing the interface, although I always liked Vchira better for having a selection box. However, new parameters are always welcome. Some nice new Fractals are drifting on my desktop again! Thank you for reminding me of that Treasure!

Pros
Easy to use, lots of options, makes really interesting fractal images.
Cons
limited to Julia. Would love to see more options, but overall, best fractal program I have found.
