Steel Beasts is more than just another modern tank simulation screen shots. This design effort accurately models real-world conditions and tactics in a way that doesn't overwhelm the novice with a zillion key combinations and an over-the-top interface. Beyond the realism and gameplay, this tank sim includes the following added improvements:

Real-world tank tactics and the means to use them
M1 and Leopard 2A4 tanks
Integrated mission and map editors
Accurate modeling of M1 and Leopard gunnery and the interplay that takes place between the crew members of a tank

as above, I have downloaded the program three times and find the same problem. There does not appear to be an execute file amongst the download Updated on Dec 12, 2010Same as before, could not download the program to get it running on my machine.

gOOD GRPHICS THOUGH EXPLOSIONS AREN'T THAT REALISTIC.

iT'S FAR TOO DIFFICULT TO PLAY - ONE HAS TO KEEP CHECHING THE KEYBOARD ALL THE TIME AND ALL THE KEYBOARD COMMANDS AREN'T THERE IN EVERY ENGAGEMENT.

This game is very realistic.

Pros
I like that it lets you set up a battle plan and how to deploy your forces but it should have been possible to move more than one unit at a time,such as being able to move units on the map with the mouse cursor.
Cons
easier manipulation of targeting controls;say maybe using the number keys to indicate the various vehicles and then using the function keys to zero in on that particular vehicle's controls.

The graphics were very sub-level. Then all of a sudden the colors of the game went wacko on me. I'm not sure what some people are thinking.

I find it to be very realistic,there's a lot of real world challanges built in to this game.I called in an Ariel strike and it took 3min and 20sec from the time i made the call till the barrage hit the target. The barrage lasted a good 20secs. There's a lot of well done detail in both sight and sound. A large terrain to play in "you could get lost with out the map lol".I give the game an A+
