STDU Converter Lite for Windows

The DjVu file format was created to provide a lightweight way to digitize information stored in traditional hard-copy formats. Scans and other digital images can be stored at a high resolution using DjVu without the prohibitively large files sizes that come along with formats like JPEG, GIF, and PNG. Because the DjVu format isn't particularly common, users sometimes need to convert DjVu files to a more accessible file type. And that's where STDU Converter Lite comes in.

This is one of the smallest and simplest applications we've ever seen, and it does one very specific thing; it is, as Alton Brown would say, a uni-tasker. The interface is a long thin strip that allows users to choose a source file and a destination location, and that's pretty much it. The program can convert both DjVu files and TIFF files into PDFs. That's all it does. There are no other options or features, no Help file, no menus. There is no batch processing. If you need to convert DjVu or TIFF files, one at a time, into PDF files, this is the program for you. If you need to do anything else, we recommend you seek out a program with more features.

STDU Converter Lite is free to try, but the trial version places so many watermarks on the output PDFs that they are rendered virtually unreadable. The program installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users.
