StatisticS reads all data files from Microsoft Excel or others and produces by one click graphic descriptions (bars or pies), graphic comparisons with statistical tests (Chi2, Student, ANOVA, corelation and non parametric tests) with obvious results easily understandable, and Survival curves with LogRank test. All graphics can be adjusted (slices, colors, sorts...), explored (a click on a bar displays the corresponding datas) and pasted in a word processing. All statistical tests and graphic models are automatically choosen by the software itself, so you don't need to be proficient in statistics to use StatisticS !

Why bother?

Since Statview is no more available, there is no cheap app dedicated to medical stats.
One who needs to perform quick stats on medical databases has a minimum knowledge about logrank, Kaplan or actuarial survival and so on.
So the minimalist help is enough compared to the books of JMP or the complexity of Stata.
Aabel is cheap, but not intuitive, complex and we renounced to use it.
OK, graphs are minimalist too, but for medical charts in congress presentations or in medical papers (B&W !!!) we just need efficacy, not wasting time on rainbow multicolored charts or beautiful 3D modeling ...
The price is nothing compared to JMP and others.
Only problem : the link to pay on line is broken !
That's the opinion of two university surgeons working daily with medical files...
Package has improved, but not enough

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
The application has improved in stability, although it still quits unexpectedly upon exit as did the previous version reviewed. Nothing significant has changed with respect to the user interface which I consider to be non-intuitive. Documentation is virtually non-existent and there is no content help.
This version is an improvement, but it has a way to go before it could be considered a viable competitor to Graphpad's Instat.
A real piece of merde.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
The lack of knowledge of English is bad enough. The lack of knowledge of statistics is even worse. Your money is better spent elsewhere - even on Excel, which is superior. Aabel would be a MUCH better choice.
Maybe it's no good for you, but not for me !

This is the only one which prooved useful to me, at once. In any case, for those who are not specialized in statistics, its just OK. Besides, graphics can be settled easily and results come out quite clear. Thanks.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
A relatively basic statistical analysis package that is non-intuitive to use, lacks any useful documentation, quits unexpectedly upon exiting the application, and is expensive compared to existing and better alternatives. InStat from GraphPad is less expensive, better supported, and more extensive in its statistical offerings. I could not recommend this software.
