Editors’ Review

STARWEAVE is an indie, turn-based tactics game where you lead characters fighting against a pre-determined fate. Originally a student project, it's a surprisingly polished experience that's short, but sweet. If you like a narrative-driven game, this is for you.

  • Pros

    • Beautiful art style makes every battle feel like a storybook | Top-notch voice acting elevates the emotional impact | The Refusal Mechanic adds a clever meta-layer to combat | Rewarding to see the consequences of characters' autonomy

  • Cons

    • Fading textboxes are strangely hard on the eyes | Three-hour runtime feels too short; I wanted more! | No planned updates means quirks will likely persist
