Summary
You better conserve the weapons especially the shotgun attached ones as it will be vitally used later better for you to use the infinite ammo rifle at start then when you meet the yellow arachnid (tiger) use the shotgun attached weapon (don't use the shotgun yet) as the other rifle will do little damage to it gather the ammo scattered around the crash site (don't shoot at the red barrels it will be use full later) and get the beacon and mines then it's time for action! Equip the shoty attached rifle and blast your enemies off shoot the barrels when they are on it then blast your way through! Plus: When you encounter the giant bug (tanker) it's end of the demo if you want to kill it you must play the full game! There's another demo for this game it's called 'plasma mountain'. Updated on Dec 24, 2010Sorry I've just reviewed my post. Here's an easier way to beat STD1: After the Outpost defense you are asked to get out of the post so get to the desert there you should find a cave, when you reach the cave's exit there should be a marine eaten by a bug and is the place we first encounter the 'tiger bug' so just get going don't do silly after we reached the crash site, just get the power sets and the mine layers (the two box near the shot downed ship) and get to the edge (behind the ship) there should be a crate on the hill (not cliff) near to it is a AR clip a grenade a shotgun gauge and a shotgun grab the gun and use it against the incoming horde of bugs they will die easily with it. now move back to the cave's entrance plant the mines then plant the power source in the base and get to position for defense against hundreds of bugs! (If you want you can now get the towers machine gun for use but wait for the fly-by bug raid one of the gunner) later on, a tanker will appear!!!

This download has everything one could ask from a demo. It has awesome graphics, amazing gameplay, and it's based off of something that everyone loves: Starship Troopers.
Cons
The only bad thing about this demo is the shadows. It has to render an individual shadow for each bug (200+, at times) which would lag ANY machine. This is overcome, though, by simply turning off the shadows. Also, note that this demo will soon be updated, and will hopefully contain a fix for this problem.

Looks like this demo version doesn't represent full version of the game. Or, if it does, then it seems it'll be a very boring game - running around shooting spiders... And yes, in a demo, when you get to the crash site - in a few moments you get swarmed by a whole bunch of bugs and it really isn't clear what to do or how to get out of that situation.

great fun killing bugs in the beginning when they swarm the base.

as soon as i got to the crash site to get the power supply i get swarmed by 70-80 bugs...by myself. needless to say i didnt win. iv played this demo over at least 7 times, is this supposed to happen or what?

Starship Troopers is the game based upon the hit 1997 movie. You play the role of an elite Marauder - the Special Forces of the Mobile Infantry. As High Command's precision strike tool it's your duty to spearhead the campaign against the arachnid menace. Whenever "the going gets tough" Marauders are expected to lead the way! The full game consists of 12 single player levels--set in diverse environments such as desert canyons, abandoned mines, lonely trooper outposts and of course--the bug nests! In the course of the campaign on Hesperus you will have to fight 19 unique species of bugs, from harmless chariot bugs to huge plasma bugs capable of knocking out spaceships. To assist you in this epic confrontation you'll be able to use 11 different weapons - each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Multiplayer entertainment is covered by deathmatch, team deathmatch and of course specially designed co-operative missions.

This demo lets you play through a portion of the third level. You must defend Outpost 29 from a swarm of bugs, while also venturing out to a crash site to help restore power.
