In the aftermath of the Lord of the Rings movies, the fantasy genre has been given a second life. Weaving adventure threads into a pseudo-medieval tapestry is a staple of the elfnorc world, and MU gives it to you on a no-frills platter.

You start off as a Dark Wizard, a Dark Knight or a Fairy Elf, with accordant strengths and weaknesses. You can save different base characters, a fun feature that allows you to begin play as a wizard, and later, restart and switch to a knight--but not both at the same time. The look of your character changes to reflect any new accoutrements you get, including wings and spells. There's also a coordinate system on display, so it's easier to move around the elaborate MU world.

Items can be combined in many different ways, but more game experience gets you better gear. You can even fight other players, but be warned: if you kill too many innocents, you'll be branded a murderer.

Frustratingly, MU has the same poorly-documented installation process that plagues most MMORPGs. Worse, the game's servers were hesitant and sluggish when we played, interfering with the flow of play. Once, it even got us killed!

MU is lacking in too many areas to make it worth the download to all but the most die-hard fans of the genre, considering that there are better free fantasy games out there.

Get in a guild at the start. The forum (on their website) has a guild section where guilds are eagerly waiting. I can sadly say I've played since beta (far too long... about 8-9 years now?) and I've made some great friends.

Summary
GlobalMu is an excelent game, but with the total lack of support from Webzen, it became a "Just for Fun" game. Investing your money, buying tkts, scrolls etc. is a loss of time and money. The day by day shows, they only are interested in Hacks that interfere with their business. Do not explore the bug that permits to create free invisibility cloaks fo BC, you will get banned. But, if you want a dupoed set +15+16, you find them for 200-300USD from several sources and there should be actually a 100K duoped jewels in the game. No problem with Webzen. You want to hack at Castle Siege or leave your players afk, using Advanced, no problem with Webzen. Concluding: An excelent game for who wants some free to play fun. But serious Pro player should look for other options like Cabal, Silkroad or WoW. BTW, They have a Character Transfer Bug and even in those cases, they don't recover the lost itens.

I'ts a really fun game and their are hundreds of private servers you can play on for free.

playing Global mu i had a account a long time ago and got too lvl 145 then they updated it and delete my account when they updated and you can only get too lvl 60 on free account so i just would download the private server

Great options great items great worlds great features fun to play, especially with a group of friends! faster levelling than there used to be. Lots of weapons and items, and good monsters awesome multi XP events! Great graphics and audio!

no quests until around level 220. lack of different level monsters in "Atlans"
Summary
This game is the greatest MMORPG I've played. Far better than World of Warcraft, except the lack of quests. The graphics and audio are sweet, and it's really fun to play with a party of 5 friends.
