Star Wars: KOTOR for Android

Play one of the great Star Wars RPG games -- and one of the best role-playing games, period. The massive Star Wars: KOTOR (short for Knights of the Old Republic) bristles with compelling characters and absorbing storyline to hold your attention from the first ship attack to the final battle many, many hours later.

Pros

Branching storylines: The story takes place 4,000 years before the Galactic Empire and features new characters and locations, but the struggle is the same: Sith and Jedi fight across the galaxy. At the start, you choose your character class and sex, and then as you progress, you can make choices that steer your story's direction.

Mix of combat and dialog: The game combines turn-based combat with dialog to drive the story forward. Along with the main story, you can follow dozens of sidequests on the worlds you visit.

Full port of the Xbox and desktop game to Android: Aspyr ported the complete game to Android in 2014. The company warns that because the game has not been slimmed down for mobile, the file size is large and can take some time.

Affordable: Buy the game on Google Play for $4.99, half of what you'd pay for the same game on Steam or Xbox, with no in-app purchases.

Cons

Tight on a small screen: While you can play through the game on a phone, the small screen can make it tough to read text and identify items. If possible, play on a tablet.
