Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for iOS

Pros

Branching storylines: The story takes place 4,000 years before the Galactic Empire and features new characters and locations, but the struggle is the same: Sith and Jedi fight across the galaxy. At the start, you choose your character class and sex, and then as you progress, you can make choices that steer your story's direction.

Mix of combat and dialog: The game combines turn-based combat with dialog to drive the story forward. Along with the main story, you can follow dozens of sidequests on the worlds you visit.

Full port of the Xbox and desktop game to iPhone: Aspyr ported the complete game to iPhone 2013. The company warns that because the game has not been slimmed down for mobile, the file size is large and can take some time.

Affordable: Buy the game on the App Store for $4.99, half of what you'd pay for the same game on Steam or Xbox, with no in-app purchases.

Cons

Tight on a small screen: While you can play through the game on a phone, the small screen can make it tough to read text and identify items. If possible, play on a tablet.
