While this application promises to reduce advertising links when searching the Web, it doesn't function well on all of the popular search engines. Sponsored Search Ad Remover doesn't offer a dedicated interface or add any new buttons or toolbars to your browser, and its folder contains only an option to uninstall. In testing we searched for the same term using Yahoo, Google, MSN Search, and Lycos before installing the program and then compared those results after Sponsored Search Ad Remover was loaded. It worked fine when using Google and completely removed the list of sponsored links, but wasn't successful on other sites. If you're looking for a way to reduce advertising clutter across multiple search engines, you'll need to keep looking. Dedicated Google users, however, might appreciate this freeware tool.
