Space Empires III is a vast and immersive space strategy game. You're in control of an empire in a constantly changing (and somewhat hostile) galaxy. Design starships, then explore, conquer, and exploit remote worlds to fulfill the needs of your people. There are hundreds of different components that can be placed on your ships and a comprehensive number of facilities that can be built on your remote outposts. Fill up those ships with various fighters, troops, and the occasional mine to establish and keep ruling order. And don't be afraid to play rough: in Space Empires III, you're the boss. In addition to all this, the game also supports multiplayer action for up to ten gamers (real or computerized).
Seriously, this is one hell of a game. The galaxy is enormous, there are tons of ships for you to build, lots of cool spacecraft components, cool empires, combat is deep, you have to use your head to succeed, different ways to win, intelligent A.I...you know what? I'm gonna sum it up in one sentence, because there are way too many things that I love about this game: this is like Civilization in space. Trust me, it's that good.
Cons
I bet everybody knows what I'm gonna say. The graphics definitely aren't top notch, but they're still nice. Of course, it doesn't just matter. What matters is how much fun this game is. Download it now. I'm telling you, you won't be dissapointed.

Pros
Its a good strategy game that makes battle tactics a precious commodity.
Cons
Graphics aren't that good. It takes three turns to move one ship across one system. It would be much better if this game was in real-time. It takes far too long to build everything. The ships need more component room. The full version is better, but not really worth the price.

I've had this game for quite some time now and im still not bored of it. You can customize this game to tailor any need or wish. If you're a Star Trek fan (like me), you could choose to be the federation and play against the klingons, romulans etc. Its great like that. The game might grow to large for you to have complete control of ur empire and becomes a huge micromanagment task, but there is a great little feature that allows your ministers to take care of the daily needs of a growing empire and allow you to do the more serious stuff like wiping out an entire species...sweet :) Download this game now!
Excellent Game.

Summary
Overall, this would be a good game if I had the time to learn to play. After a standard and painless installation, the game opens into an easy setup and easy-to-follow opening screen. The interface is simple once you actually start a game. The problem is, there are so many micro-management capabilities of this game, that it is difficult to actually keep track of all the aspects of your empire. At first, it is simple; you only have perhaps a few planets to manage. But after getting a few dozen turns into the game, a growing empire will turn into the behemoth of all micro-management games (ref. Ultimate Monopoly, Capitalism III). After not too long, the game gets so in-depth with the controlling of every aspect of every planet in your empire, it is quite easy to lose track of the real object of the game. This game turns into a rat-race nightmare, in my opinion. I would suggest it to others, simply because it was a well-built programme. But if you enjoy the action-packed games with fluid graphics and sound, you probably will not enjoy this game to its fullest potential.
