• Works good, when you can get it to work

  Allows you to set up Chapter menus

  Will often just tell you "DVD Burning Failed!" - yes - with the exclamation point, giving no reason or anything else why. So, just toss out the DVD in the trash after that. I discovered by trial and error that if you have more than 2 files or have a total time of more than 2 hours, it will usually crash, even when you are under 4.7GB.

  Summary

  It is ok when you can get it to work. They need to clean up the issues with the unexplained "DVD Burning Failed!" message.

  Pros

  It didn't crash my system upon install....?

  Cons

  I downloaded it because it handles MOV files that evidently MS or Roxio don't. Not intuitive at all and I'm an above average user. There is no step by step, here's how you do it. It must only work for putting one file on a pretty background and pressing play.

  - fast converter - creates the DVD files

  - program crashes if you try to create a DVD with more than 4.7 GB - have to manually resize video in the frame - cannot auto-start the video without the title frame - any background other than default is extra cost

  Summary

  Be sure to select the 64 bit version if you are running 64 bit Windows. And when running under Windows 7, it demands to run in Administrator mode. Even though I set the quality setting to produce a 4.7 GB DVD, the total output was only 2.8 GB - the whole video is there but it scaled back the quality even lower.

  Pros

  This is surprisingly effective for a FREE product. It does the same things that I have used Nero or ULead for in the past.

  Cons

  It sort of comes in bits and pieces. While the authoring software is free, extra components like more than one default set of backdrops and menu buttons must be purchased piecemeal. I don't find this too problematic. I just want to burn videos.

  Summary

  Did I mention that it is FREE? And it has all the basic functions needed? And that it works as well as or better than commercial software? Well it's all TRUE! In the past, when using Nero or ULead I found that the videos would notc always play on a TV DVD player, but Sonne has always produced TV ready videos. And I do not miss the stupid looking backdrops and buttons that come with Nero and ULead either. And it's FREE, not $90-$150 and more! My name is Rantin N. Raven-Faux VI and I approve this message.
