• WARNING--NO SUPPORT USER

  Pros

  Software worked and then stopped working, re-installed and would not take my key that I purchased..sent an email last week..still waiting on support.

  Cons

  no phone support. Software stopped working..not happy! :(

  Summary

  I purchase this software installed it on my laptop. The Laptop crashed, I had to re-download and know it wont accept my key numbers. Sent an email...no response....BUYER BEWARE!! Not happy they kept my $79!!

  works great in trial mode.

  Cons

  If u use more than 1 partition, u cant specify which one the software sets the license key to- thus it does not find the key and tells u 2 pay for the product- even after u have. I cont'd the company for help... they were rude and refused a refund

  Summary

  This is supposed to be able to read the info properly from MP3 and other files, not just CDs. It screwed up everything, but without a consistent pattern. In some cases, artists were listed under titles, sometimes not. Most song titles were listed under an unlabeled column at the left, were cut off and the remainder of the title showed up under a column on the right-hand side of the document titled "disc ID", whatever that is. I assumed it would be the album title, but apparently not.

  Pros

  The Software does great when it works. The IDEA is great. Makes it easy to make a book when it works.

  Cons

  Kept getting failed installations after purchasing.Was told to uninstall and reinstall.Seems the only way they know how to fix it.When I asked for a phone # so could fix it over the phone, was told "we don't have a phone.We only offer email support."

  Summary

  DON'T WASTE THE MONEY!! Until they have phone support, the aggravation it takes for a correct answer to get it to work isn't worth it!

• The best List generator I have found to date

  Pros

  Fast to import songs and generate song lists sorted by artist or title 1, 2 or 3 columns (column 3 would be disc ID)

  Cons

  Free version only lets you import 1000 songs.(it's free, so I'll live with that). Installer started my Nvidia driver on my Vista machine and Netgear driver on my 2 XPs. Had to change my networked HP laser jet driver to PCL5 instead of PCL6.

  Summary

  As mentioned the installer started my Nvidia driver. Contacted Latshaw and was told my IE files were corrupt and delete them. I did, same thing. I even uninstalled IE and installed Safari (this was suggested). Still didn?t work. Ended up finding where the driver installer folder was and renaming it. THAT WORKED! Song List Generator installed. This has happened on 3 different computers (One was a fresh install of XP) and has happened with the last 3 versions. Other than this, I just love this program and recommend everyone downloading it.

• Excellent program, a real time saver

  Pros

  This product is a great time saver. Your options as to listing your songs are extremely flexible. Being able to define headers, so you can put your company name and possibly a telephone or another piece of information at the top, is also a plus. I also like the fact that you can export to Excel and export to PDF, so you can easily upload song lists to web sites and whatnot.

  Cons

  I have experienced a few problems with this software, as well as some things that I don't like about it. I use my laptop to DJ, so I connect my laptop to the network here and run Song List Generator on my desktop computer. It is VERY slow over a network connection, and I discourage using Song list in this way, even though the .NET framework and the program take up a good amountn of disk space. I also had some difficulties generating the song list with the error "Margins are too large." However you can fix this by changing your default printer to a different printer. <p> <p>Also, I don't like the fact that it parses the song titles by assuming that there can only be one space-dash-space sequence. If there are multiples, it won't put the song into the data set.
