Softtote iTunes Recovery Free for Mac lets you search for and retrieve many types of iTunes files that may have been lost from your mobile device. Through its highly intuitive interface, you can browse through all kinds of backup files from your iTunes account to find the ones you're looking for, and save them to your computer.

When you install Softtote, the app will automatically check your iTunes account and retrieve any backup information stored on your computer. This information will be organized by device of origin, and then broken into additional categories for you to browse through. Categories include Notes, Photos, Contacts, Voice Memos, and more. The categories show up in a list on the left-hand side of the screen; and when you select one, the available files will appear in the middle column. Selecting an individual entry causes a preview to display in the right-hand column. You can check and uncheck items you want to save, and then click the "Recover" button in the lower right-hand corner of the interface to complete the process.

The free version of this app only supports saving five items from each category, although you can browse through all of the files the app detected and copy information manually if you choose to. To unlock unlimited saving, deeper scans, and the ability to export or extract data from iTunes backup, you'll have to purchase the full version of the app for $39.90. The online Help feature is informative, and the program provides an enjoyable user experience, so even if you don't want to pay for the full upgrade, this is a nice tool to have around.
