Navigating through all your favorite social networks can be time-consuming as well as messy. As an all-in-one app, Socialite for Mac gathers together recent updates from social networks you belong to and can help you simplify your social networking life.

Users can try Socialite for Mac for free or buy it for $9.95. The installation of this rather small program went fast. The interface doesn't have the wow factor, but it is well organized and intuitive; at times, however, we had some trouble with scrolling that was not so smooth. You can easily integrate many social Web sites like Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and Digg, as well as RSS feeds, and then receive all the content updates in one place. Also, this app is well integrated with Growl, which means that every time your friends update their status or post a photo you will see a notification. However, it's a shame the program does not support some other very popular social networks, such as Tumblr or Reddit.

If you're tired of navigating through several different social networks or apps and logging in and out, then Socialite for Mac could be exactly what you're looking for. This app is suitable for all social media fans who wish to receive updates all in one place.

What’s new in version 1.5.4

Fixes Twitter search following Twitter API 1.1 changes
Removes support for adding new Google Reader accounts. Old account still work, probably until Google shuts down the service on July 1st. We're currently waiting to see if other RSS services will support Google Reader API for subscription and syncing. One such candidate is Feedly.com. It's a good service and they're working on a Google Reader-compatible API. They can migrate your Google Reader account to their service, too.

Summary
Socialite phones home to Google Analytics. The only reason to do so to my knowledge is to allow Google surveillance of my computer behavior. If your app is going to surveil my computer use, then ASK MY PERMISSION FIRST, DAMMIT. I have used my reverse firewall Little Snitch to deny Socialite access to Google Analytics forever. I suggest other folks with reverse firewalls consider doing the same.
Does not work well. Not for me, that is.

When quitting, settings are not save so read messages and deleted searches show up again when Socialite is re-launched.

Fix the problem and I'll use this program.

Works well with simple, straightforward controls that make sense.
Cons
Stick with v1.2.2 if you use or need the HUD (Heads Up Display) since v1.3 wipes out the HUD features and GUI.

Hopefully future versions will bring back the HUD. Until then I'm happily using 1.2.2

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I do twitter and facebook, and looked for a long time for one app to do both well. This is the best I could find in one package. I have used it back when it had another name and it has had it's faults and sometimes it would just suddenly no longer be compatible to twitter or facebook. It had some odd interface issues too, like missing profile icons. HOWEVER, this update is absolutely amazing. The threaded facebook comment views are something I never though they could add. All the twitter stuff is exactly like I like it. This is THE app if you use twitter and facebook both and want to get updates in a single well-designed window. I am very, very pleased with this product. The new features allow me to do almost all my facebook stuff in it without ever having to go to the web site itself. Please keep up the good work! I recommend this highly to anyone that wants to get facebook and twitter updates throughout the day without going to web pages or two different apps.

I only use this program for the FaceBook so that is the extent of my review: I love this app because like most MacApps it makes it so I do not have to do anything. Meaning "signing in" to check my friends updates. "Mail""iPhoto"&"socialite"= Function
Cons
No MySpace support. But I personally don't need it so my rating in not effected.
Summary
Great Program. Good GUI. Especially with Snow Leopard.
