Snippets is an application for Mac OS X that stores the most valuable pieces of your code you can re-use in different projects many times. The main idea is to make the process of re-using as easy as possible to avoid wasting your valuable time to write the same code again.
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I haven't used it extensively. Just checking it out and thought the rating of this application based on one review is a bit misleading. I love the textmate code coloring and dropbox integration. Very handy. I've love to see a universal search key when the menu icon is shut down.
Nice app, but quite limited

Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />After looking for a code snippet app for some time, I found Snippets and was pleased with its ease of snippet entry and retrieval. However, the inability to modify the default code type categories makes this app quite limited. These code categories are referred to as "highlights," and they are the most important way to designate what language the snippet belongs to. The inability to modify these to suit my language needs makes this app frustrating to use, and not worth $40.
If the developer enhanced the feature set to include this kind of user configuration, it could be a great help. Otherwise, there are other solutions out there that don't look as nice, or provide keyboard shortcut code entry, but at least my code snippets are organized in the way that best suits my organizational needs.
