Smash Hit is a game that lets you hone your skills at smashing glass obstacles that get in your way by hitting them with balls. Smash sparkling pyramids to accumulate more balls, and use those to keep advancing through one area after another, leaving shattered remnants in your wake.

Pros

Impressive graphics and effects: The worlds you're navigating in this game are beautifully designed, with all kinds of different glass structures for you to pass through or smash. Any time you hit an object and break it, the glass shatters very realistically, just as it would in the real world.

Good interface: There aren't a ton of options in this game, but the controls are intuitive, and the mechanics are straightforward. You have no control over your speed or direction as you move through the different stages of the game. All you can do is throw balls at objects by tapping the place where you want the ball to hit. And while this is a relatively basic skill to pick up, the game is quite hard to master.

Cons

Starting over: As you proceed through the game, you'll pass checkpoints that allow you to start further along down the course in the next game. But these are only saved for one session. When you close the app and then open it again, you'll always be right back at the beginning. The only way to save your progress permanently is to upgrade to the premium version of the game for $1.99.

Bottom Line

Smash Hit is fun and challenging, with a different look and feel than many of the games out there. Each level is also designed to go along with a specific type of music to complete the aesthetic, but you can turn this off if you choose, as well. Overall, if you're looking for something new and a little different to play to pass the time, this is a good option to check out.
