Scientific calculators are kind of like wildlife tags, clearly identifying certain individuals as nerds, who themselves view the tricorder-size devices as badges of honor and marks of distinction. While handheld scientific calculators will long find a cherished place on many a belt, smartphones and other powerful handheld devices are starting to target their lunch money, in part by ganging up with freeware like EasyFindSoft's Smart Scientific Calculator. It's a free, totally portable, fully featured scientific calculator for your desktop, laptop, or other Windows devices. It's HTML-based, uses Flash player, and offers a widget you can embed in your blog or Web page.

Smart Scientific Calculator is portable freeware that runs as soon as you click its program file, so you can save the download anywhere, such as the desktop or a USB drive. It opens a compact browser page with a realistic 3D-style image of a calculator displayed. Apart from links to the developer's and sponsor's Web pages, the only other controls access the widget tool and return the program to its Home page, which refreshes the view. Smart Scientific Calculator has a full set of buttons, including sine, cosine, tangent, and square root as well as memory and recall functions. We entered a few calculations, and Smart Scientific Calculator marked each keystroke with a sound. There doesn't seem to be any way inside the program to defeat the sound effects, beyond muting our sound card, nor did we find any settings other than those for Flash Player, and no Help file or documentation.

Still, Smart Scientific Calculator did everything we'd expect in a student-level instrument. As we noted, it's capable of advanced calculations, but some users may find they need something specific it lacks, and there are no customization options, though it does check for updates. For most users who need a scientific calculator, it's more than up to the job, especially since it's free.

Give a chance to search in Google about "advanced trigonometry calculator". My application is incredible! Give a read time to "About execution of application.txt" and you will know how to use it. The only free calculator I have found that can do fractional arithmetic and correctly use the order of operations.
Cons
1. The annoying bleep every time a key is hit. Please remove this from future versions. PLEASE! 2. Cannot convert a mixed number answer to an improper fraction. While you should be able to handle this minimum conversion yourself, it would be an excellent addition to make SHIFT Ab/c convert the mixed number to improper.
Summary
Overall, this is a solid product. It was not intended to be a graphing calculator or a high-powered, does-everything, scientific calculator. There are plenty of those available. This is a solid, entry-level, scientific calculator that can handle fractions.

It does scientific calculations, the trivial test of 5+6x3=23 is the correct answer whereas the Windows calculator gives 33 which is incorrect as per mathematics precedent rules.
Cons
It is noisy and it would not load if I blocked access to the internet thus it makes me a touch suspicious.

Ok if you want a basic calculator but nothing to get excited about.

Looks a bit like a good calculator at a quick glance.

Its digital display and the whole calc'r is hard to read on my new 17 inch LCD screen. No Help button. Some important things missing - the standard Win XP calc does everything this pretends to do (and more) and has a sharp, clear image incl readout

Not obvious to use (and no Help), hard to read, necessary things missing, the normal familiar Windows one is MUCH better. Don't waste your time!

I gave this 4 stars because it has an (a/b/c) button to do fractions and is simple to understand.
Cons
It can't do mixed number fractions. Dose not do engineering, currency or any other fancy stuff, Beeps when you type, and the number pad will not work with the calculator.
Summary
Until I find another program that can do everything I'll keep this free version around in case I need to do basic math and fractions.
