• Has Potential, Boring Gameplay

  Pros

  I like that you can name your team, customize the colors a bit and name your 12 players. The training field is a fun way to train specific players in batting, fielding, running, hitting and pitching.

  Cons

  Playing a game is agonizing. You watch the game slowly play out in front of you. Games are not interactive: you can't pinch hit, or tell a player to steal a base, or even setup basic strategy for your team.Iit is extremely BORING.

  Summary

  Unless you enjoy sitting for hours watching microscopic players run around the screen, avoid this game. The game is dated and needs more interactive controls.

  Fun to play, game is strategically diverse.

  Ownership has gone awol. Game pretty much runs on auto pilot. The basic game is free. Purchasers of add-ons ($3 to $20)frequently do not have their orders fulfilled, and need to get PayPal to refund the purchase price.

  If you want to manage a team this is the game to download. I don't understand the reviews on here? They must be expecting results over night which will not happen, you have to train your team just like the real deal(running, throwing, hitting, catching,ect...) and train often or they will lose thier previous training just like the real deal. And as far as spending hundreds of dollars? I've been playing for over 2 years now and I've spent $0.00!! as a matter of fact they have a forum where teams are given away daily. The deluxe trainer is around $20.00 but you still can be competitive without it. It just takes a little longer to train your guys. So as far as the bad reviews they are bogus! If you want results overnight forget it! If you want a FUN game this is it!

  The only thing I can think of is it takes time to build a good team, you can not do it over night.

  the developer constantly makes changes to this game (which is NOT played like real baseball)and learning the new things is very challenging to a new player and frustrating to anyone that has played this game for more than a couple months.

  12 individual players fun to learn their skills and abilitys as baseball players, training a bit of a learning curve but game provides a long term relationship with the game. Most games are useless in a month. this one has taken a couple years to become useless.

  Cons

  as a long term player I have seen a great game concept in beta turn into the same problem real baseball has without the AI resembling real baseball. The game makers have taken the concept of the pure game and turned it into a nickle and dime operation with no end in site to fixing major bugs and AI problems. The community forum restricts all voices of reason. If you speak up about cheats, you will be shut off and frowned upon weather you are right or not. Any other ave of communication is ignored including many business email addresses.

  The SmallBall Community is great, You can have a ton of fun playing this game.

  Cons

  you can invest $100's of dollars, and countless hours into your team just to see it thrown out the window at the whim of the developer. He constantly makes changes so that you have to spend more money if you want your team to be competitive in his game. The SmallBall Pro Leagues are challenging but the official rules are not enforced and people cheat in order to win. If you like being constantly frustrated, like wasting money and like to cheat this would be a good game for you.

  although the game is free, they still have some major bugs to address. this is a strategy game and the bugs DO keep you from advancing. the developers constantly change the game parameters and it's hard to overcome the changes. only a dedicated gamer will enjoy the constant setbacks your team will have. READ the Smallball forums for a clear picture of this game BEFORE you invest any money in it. The developer is non-responsive to non-paying customers. On a good note - hardcore baseball fans WILL like this game.
