  there is no such thing as a "custom install" on the installer... if you people actually paid attention to the installer you would know this! also it's an evaluation "free" version, the company wants to make money by making it limited and encourages customers to get the paid version. also, if you know how to use this, it is useful. unlike the reviewers here. if you don't know how to use this software, USE GOOGLE!!

  Looks nice.

  Cons

  Had a LAN card with all Zeros for a Mac Address. Using this I made a random address and restarted the adapter. Still didn't work and it wouldn't connect to router and ethernet. Used a free program Technitium and it worked great the first time.

  Tried SMAC 2.7, works great on VISTA & 2008, both English and non-English OS. SMAC 2.7 made some improvements for non-English versions of OS. GUI is neat and simple. I use it all the time when I'm on public wireless wifi.

  Nothing I can think of at this time.

  Summary

  It works. It has made my life easier and more private when surfing the public wireless network. I have tried others but still think SMAC is simpler for me. SMAC was recommended to me by a couple of colleagues and a relative, and I am happy with their recommendation. I have used SMAC for over 1 year now, and I'll say SMAC 2.7 is more straight forward for VISTA and 2008. I use it on English and German OS without any problems so far. It is pretty solid software.

  Work like a champ! Made in USA Support is great too Awarded by PC World in 2007 Largest user base for MAC Address Spoofing software I use SMAC to spoof my MAC Address to protect my privacy when surfing at Wi-Fi Hotspots.

  Cons

  wish it's free but got 20% discount with coupon code SMAC5Y, so can't complain too much. Worth it.

  Summary

  I like it. Free to try, but worth the money for Standard Edition. Look for Coupon code on the web to get some discount. I used coupon code SMAC5Y and got 20% discount! :) I heard it has been used by many Fortune 500 companies and government so it got to be the best.

  Yeah, it'll allow you to change the mac address, but the evaluation version only allows you to change it to a mac address they specify, not one you enter yourself.
