Menubar battery meter monitors laptop & ups power.
SlimBatteryMonitor is a space-efficient replacement power gauge for your Mac OS X menu bar. It monitors both laptop batteries and many UPS batteries. You can select different views for when powered, charging or on battery... even instruct SlimBatteryMonitor to automatically hide itself in some circumstances (e.g. while fully charged). A graphical icon shows the power remaining, and can be accompanied by a text description (battery charge in percent, or time remaining). Colours indicate whether the system is fully charged, charging or on battery. In some cases, SlimBatteryMonitor can be 70% slimmer than Apple's system meter... With SlimBatteryMonitor you'll have room for other important menu bar items.
Helps me run the NEW battery in my MacBook down before recharging Used to run it "on battery" for a bit then recharge. The original battery would be fine until it got to the 70-75% level and then quit. Not good when planning a long trip.
Simple and works

Pros
Provides relatively accurate indication of battery life. Sits in the menu bar.
Cons
There really isn't anything to not like about this.
Summary
Nice utility.
Excellent Menubar Addition!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This application is excellent! It cuts the menubar space by half and is very customizeable; I easily changed the color of the icon outline from black to blue. I would suggest moving the application from the desktop into the Applications folder before installing. "Calculating remaining time" does NOT work as it did NOT with Apple's battery monitor, since I am using Mac OS X 10.4.7; otherwise this app works great! Thanks.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
It's terrific and I would use it in my menu bar, but like other people, I wish (1) you command-mouse-click drag it to another position in the menu bar (like other utilities like MenuMeters) and (2) lower memory consumption. The latter is probably going to be really hard, because I've never seen a GUI app on the Mac use less than 200+ MB of VM. Still, I keep hoping...
Were it not for those two issues, I would keep this in my menu bar and pay a donation to the author. It's otherwise a really cool utility.
Well done!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I didn't know about this little freeware until I got a tips from a page on MacFixit and now after using it I can see how much better this is compared to Apples menu. There's only one small glitch in it and that is when SlimBatteryMonitor are loaded in between two other menu items the time indicator gets cutted and shows (...) instead of the correct time remaining. The procent indicator works well though! It would be great if I could move this in the menu or if it could be loaded as the last menu item to the left.

Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Upon launching the program, a window comes up describing the program. However, there is absolutely no way to close this window. No OK button, no close widget, nothing. And with this window up, clicking on the icon in the menu bar just makes the alert sound. The only way to get rid of it was to kill the process.
This might be an ok application, but behavior like this has dropped it from my hard drive.
