• Best mush client for Windows

  Pros

  Very solid interface, very usable scripting/timers/triggers syntax. Spell-check is very well implemented (paid version). I particularly like the ability to turn of ANSI colors (some mu**'s abuse them).

  Cons

  Seems to have issues with Windows7 on my new laptop, particular being very prone to drop the connection. NOTE: may not be a Simplemu issue. Also program is no longer in active development.

  Summary

  Absolutely the best on XP, be cautious with Windows7.

  I love this program. It's the only mu* client I use, because its the best.

  Cons

  Every time you want to use it on Windows Vista or 7, you have to reinstall it.

  Pros

  Simple to use. As in-depth as you want it to be, with custom hotkeys and much more. Fairly stable. Creator has been working on the software for *years*. Can be used free but has great additional features for a very low registration fee. Real friendly tech support. Stable, customizable, reliable. Game on!

  Pros

  SimpleMU walks the very fine line between ease of use and amount of features. Some clients throw in every feature shy of the kitchen sink, but get you a garbled interface that's a pain to use. Some others are too basic, with no features to speak of. But SimpleMU gets all of the important bells and whistles while still offering a clean, uncluttered interface.

  Cons

  Development is still ongoing for the program, but at a very. Very. Slow. Pace. Which, considering its stable state, isn't a real problem, but you won't find a lightning-fast development cycle with new improvements every week.

  Stable, easy to use, and with a number of good features (even for the unregistered user), SimpleMU is definitely one of the best clients out there for MOOs, MUDs, and the like.

  I havebeen into MUDs for a long time, first I had G-mud, then Z-mud(witch is nice but it costs money)then I came to SimpleMU. Me and a frien accually created a MUD with simpleMU (OLC)You can even have music with SimpleMU, for all of you MUD creators. Have fun w/this program I like it a lot...and it's FREE!!!

  Hrm. I find SimpleMU to be terribly overrated. Of course, the full version of the program is probably alot better, but almost all of the helpful tools are "registered users only". It's a trial version, so why add good tools that we can't even use? Not to mention that I've been having alot of "runtime error" problems with the software. Ugh. Not to mention the idle nuking.. after about 30 minutes of idle time from saying anything on the MU, it kicks you off of it. Argh. They need to come up with a better client..
