ShroomSnap: Mushroom ID for Android

ShroomSnap: Mushroom ID is an innovative application designed for mushroom identification, primarily targeting foragers, biology students, and nature enthusiasts. Utilizing advanced AI image recognition technology, the app analyzes photos of mushrooms to suggest possible species along with confidence scores and a toxicity rating system. It features a searchable field guide and a streamlined identification process that does not require users to create an account, ensuring a quick and privacy-focused experience for users on the go.

The app also enables users to record their finds with detailed logs that include date, location metadata, and a collection map to visualize discoveries. Users can upload multiple photos per entry, enhancing the identification process by capturing different angles of the mushroom. While the app requires an internet connection for cloud-based identification, it retains previously saved data and reference materials for offline access, making it a practical tool for outdoor use.
