• NO HELP in the software, no help on the website

  Pros

  The program works as long as you want to build your website the way Shopfitter wants you to build it, NOT much of a pro.

  Cons

  NO HELP!!! There are options, such as using Flash elements, but no help files at all. None in the software, none on the website! I think I'll look elsewhere for an e-commerce site builder. Spending all of my time trying to figure this program out.

  Summary

  My experience has not been good. Might have been better if there were some help on doing things with the builder software. I've visited Shopfitters website many times looking for help and their forum and help areas are ALWAYS being updated. I've never seen them when they weren't being updated, and many of the pages have no information at all. Seems to me Shopfitter would have some help since they will to be in your pocket for every transaction. Well I guess they will not be in my pocket if I can't use their software to build my site.

  Pros

  yes it works a lot like myob in it's feel. has options for it's own online merchant too. this pricing sturcture would be better suited to people who's products are over $20 per sale

  Cons

  I don't like the high cost they want out of each sale you make then there is a slug for a monthly fee as well all in all paypal is cheaper their so for me I will pass on this one and try something else

  Pros

  Its easy to use, the output of the software is brilliant. I got my site up and running in 2 day's. You need to have .net framework 2.0 installed to get it running. <p> <p>It does cost per order, but that means that you only pay when you start selling. I am adding those costs to my delivery charges! If I dont sell anything it wont cost me anything, and because its capped I know the most that I am going to pay in any month. <p> <p>The featues are pretty good, multi-currency, various shipping options, paypal and google checkout, the list goes on. <p> <p>The thing that sets it apart for me is the outputted pages, if you run them through the validator at W3C they come back with no errors. The search engines are going to love these pages. Looks like a good job, done by people who know what they are doing.

  Pros

  Easy to use and navigate, build your e-commerce site with main categories, sub categories and deeper. Easy to navigate sites are built using breadcrumbs to follow the path you have taken. The search engine optimisation allows you to set the meta data for every product page - allowing you to ensure your product does well in natural searches. Features a google product search rss feed which is automatically generated.<p>It's free to use the software and build your site with as many products as you like, YOU do have to pay one pound per order taken over the secure server (or 50p is the order is under ten pounds) but then as you are selling something you can configure this into the margin - and hosting your own secure server would cost a lot more.<p>I used it to build my web site pennineteaandcoffee.co.uk and I'm very happy with the results and also the number of sales I get from it!

  I visited their website and they charge One British Pound ($2.02) per transaction. This software should not be listed as freeware.
